Alaska on the Home Shore is your active adventure cruise alternative in Southeast's vast wilderness playground. You choose your activities, aboard or ashore.

Home Shore on board activities include sightseeing, whale watching, bear spotting, swimming (for the brave) and fishing. Our library is stocked with intriguing local references. Salsa dancing lessons? Ask Kristin.
Kayaks and our 14' outboard skiff provide flexible access to shore, where we hike, beach comb, visit hotsprings, pan for gold, explore ruins, and visit a fishing village. We like to cook dinner over a driftwood fire on the beach.

A humpback whale might pass 50 yards off the beach
where we enjoy dinner. Expect surprises - keep your
camera handy both aboard and ashore.
Never a dull moment, but many chances to relax.
Chantale (right) enjoys the bow. Others prefer
Home Shore's heated spaces: pilothouse,
galley, lounge, and stateroom sitting areas.

"I truly enjoyed the freedom of planning activities day by day and having
the flexibility to change plans by the hour based on whale sightings, weather,
and mood. This was a totally relaxing experience, yet I was able to be very
active."
~ Lewis Bayer, Florida

Ancient footsteps precede us on the rainforest shore.
Wooden remnants of Tlingit culture have vanished, but
shell middens remain. Early 20th century gold mine sites
bear fascinating relics. Our guest (pictured below)
contemplates a cairn built by Capt. Vancouver's crew.
